The Quiet Screen
On my trading floor there was one screen no one wanted to sit near. It never blinked. Never flashed. Never screamed.
The guy who sat there didn’t talk much either.
While everyone chased momentum and shouted orders, he waited. Sometimes days. Sometimes weeks.
One afternoon a junior trader leaned over and joked,“Your screen broken?”
He didn’t look up. “No. I’m just waiting for the market to say something worth listening to.”
That trader survived every crash.The loudest screens went dark first.
Lesson: The market always speaks. Most people just talk too much to hear it.
