“The Holy Art of Boiling Potatoes” 🥔😂
One day, I walked into my kitchen with big dreams… not of cooking a feast, not of becoming a chef… but simply to boil a potato.
As I put the pot on the stove, my brain suddenly woke up like an alarm clock:“Excuse me… what are you doing with your life?”
I looked at the potato… the potato looked at me.
My brain continued:“You could be doing something important. Something BIG. And here you are… boiling a potato??”
I paused… took a deep breath… and said:“No no… I’m not just boiling a potato… I am practicing patience, discipline, and… not burning the house down.”
The potato said nothing. Very supportive.
Five minutes later:Brain: “Still nothing?”Me: “Nope. Still boiling. Still holy.”
Ten minutes later:Brain: “This is pointless.”Me: “So is worrying… but here we are.”
Then suddenly it hit me—Even something as small as boiling a potato can be done with peace, purpose, and presence.
Because sometimes… life is not about doing BIG things…It’s about doing small things with a calm heart and a joyful spirit.
And also… not forgetting the salt.
At the end, I sat down, looked at my perfectly boiled potato and said:“Wow… we did it.”
My brain went quiet. The potato was proud. And honestly… so was I.
Verse 📖“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”— Bible, 1 Corinthians 10:31
Prayer 🙏Lord,Thank You for reminding me that even the smallest things matter.Help me not to rush, not to doubt myself, and not to feel “not enough” when life feels simple.Teach me to find joy in the little moments… even in boiling a potato.Give me peace when my mind gets loud, and remind me that I am always growing, even in quiet seasons. And Lord… please help me not to forget the salt.Amen.
