A date with Jesus 😘😘😘
“A simple meal of olive oil and herbs is enough to build a happy home.”
“Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife.” — Proverbs 17: Growing up in Bethlehem, my grandpa would always say: “دِقّة وزيت… وعمار البيت.” In English, it means: “A simple meal of olive oil and herbs is enough to build a happy home.” As a little girl, I heard those words over and over again. I didn’t really understand them. I thought he was only talking about food. Then I moved to Canada. For the first time, I realized he wasn’t talking about olive oil at all. He was talking about contentment. About gratitude. About the kind of home that is built with love, peace, and God’s presence—not with wealth. In Bethlehem, bread, olive oil, and za’atar were never signs of poverty. They were reminders that when a family gathers around one table with thankful hearts, they already have enough. Now, every time I dip fresh bread into olive oil, I hear my grandpa’s voice again. Some of life’s greatest wisdom is hidden in the simplest traditions. What is a saying from your grandparents that you finally understood as an adult? Tell me in the comments. For more follow my youtub channel https://youtube.com/@mariawilson-z1t?si=apSHhuTEgTFZRsNU

The Eyes of the Creator Verse: “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” — Genesis 2:15
There was a time when I didn’t understand why a squirrel kept coming near me. I was hesitant and didn’t really accept her. Then a dear friend said something that changed my heart: “She comes because she feels safe and loved in your place.” Those words stayed with me. From that moment, I started looking at her through different eyes—not my own, but the eyes of God. I began talking to her, leaving her food, and simply enjoying her presence. Day after day, she returned. Sometimes she would rest nearby, and even when I took out my phone to record a video, she didn’t run away. She stayed, almost as if she were saying, “Hello, my friend.” It reminded me of who God created us to be. We were never meant to rule the earth with pride or carelessness. We were created to live in peace, to care for creation, and to be faithful stewards of everything God has entrusted to us. Every tree, every flower, every bird, and every little creature reflects the beauty of the Creator. Love changes how we see the world. When we begin to see creation through God’s eyes, fear becomes compassion, indifference becomes kindness, and ordinary moments become reminders of His presence. May we become the people God intended us to be—people who bring peace, protect His creation, and love without expecting anything in return. Sometimes the smallest creatures teach us the greatest lessons: that a heart filled with God’s love becomes a safe place for others. Picture was taken few minutes ago ❤️❤️❤️❤️
