Canada Changed Me, But It Didnโ€™t Change Who I Am ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡
Canada Changed Me, But It Didnโ€™t Change Who I Am ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡
โ€œDo not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.โ€ โ€” Romans 12:2๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™
After almost three years, Canada has truly become my home.
It is different from the home where I was born, grew up, and was raisedโ€”Bethlehem. Yet God has been teaching me that home is not just a place. It is where He plants you for a season.
The journey has not been easy. Learning a new culture, understanding different ways of communicating, making mistakes, asking questions, and trying to fit in has stretched me in ways I never imagined.
But I chose to be willing to learn.
I chose to listen.
I chose to ask for help.
I chose to receive god blessing in different ways
Most importantly, I chose to keep asking Jesus to heal my heart and guide every step.
I didnโ€™t leave behind my values, my faith, or my boundaries. Those remain the foundation of who I am. Instead, God has added new layers to my life.
Today, Iโ€™m a Christian from Bethlehemโ€ฆ and a proud Canadian lady. Thd best Iโ€™m Italian in my heart and soul ๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ‹
If you had told me years ago that Iโ€™d naturally say, โ€œSorry,โ€ โ€œOh boy,โ€ โ€œHey bro,โ€ or even, โ€œWelcome to Canada, man!โ€ I probably would have laughed.
Yet here I amโ€”a new version of myself.
Not because I lost who I was, but because God continues to shape me into who He is calling me to be.
Growth doesnโ€™t mean abandoning your identity.
It means allowing God to refine you while staying rooted in Him.
And for that, I am grateful.
