3. Whichever book you decide to pick.
I'm a bit stumped on this one. Subject- book? verb- pick? Wasabi- what and since also because it? I think it's Independant. ✖️
ANSWER: Dependent. "Whichever book you decide to pick" is acting as a noun phrase/subject fragment with no main predicate or verb resolving it.
4. How she managed to fix the engine impressed everyone.
Independant. ✔️

I'm not reviewing this topic again in-depth. I've been cilcleing around it for too long. Besides, I probaly don't have time for that. My PSAT is on 10/26/26. (in 15 days)
7 more steps to go under the Grammer course.
8 lessons in 1 hour Desmos course.
6 steps in Reading passage course.
that's about 21 lessons left. I can't focus on only one for each day. so I'll do multiple in a day. 1 from each course will take up a week, and that'll leave me with another week to grind on Aniko.
NEW OBJECTIVE🥲:
Review previously learned topics
Step 2: Punctuation
+Technique 1 - The Basics
+Step 1 - Comprehension
I'll quickly go over the 3 questions I got incorrect.
3. Whichever book you decide to pick.
Independant. ✖️
ANSWER: Dependent. "Whichever book you decide to pick" is acting as a noun phrase/subject fragment with no main predicate or verb resolving it.
->Its wrong because its incomplete. wow.
6. The girl who sits next to me in math class.
independant. ✖️
ANSWER: Dependent. "The girl who sits next to me in math class" is being used as a subject phrase with a modifying relative clause, but there is no main verb performing an action.
-> same as #3. It sounds imcompltete. it sound continue on with smth like "lent me a pencil".
9. Since it started raining heavily, we stayed indoors.
dependant bc it starts with 'Since'. ✖️
ANSWER: Independent. Has all three elements of an independent clause. "We" is the subject and "stayed" is the main verb. There is a WASABI word (since), but the sentence becomes resolved with the second clause.
->There was a comma, the dependant part was followed up with a Independant clause "we stayed indoors". what's why the sentance that resolved. See, that makes much more sense. Why did no one explain it like that???
Final set of question based off of my incorrections:
- Whatever sweater you choose to wear.
DEPENDANT! DEPENDANT DEANEPAANT✅
2. The dog that barked all night long.
INDEPEANDANT, ITS A COMPLETE CLAUSE AND THOUUGHT❌
3. Because the power went out, we lit candles.
INDEPENDTANT✅
... you see, I got number 3 wrong because I didn't see the word "that". That's why I thought it was a independant clause. I'll just move on.
Step 2: Punctuation

What I cal recall from the video:
colon IC/DC: list
semicolon IC/IC; connects to ideas. However is before semicolor if previois sentacne contridicts the 2nd one.
comma, I forgot ngl. I think IC/IC??
- idk about the dash. IC/DC???
Notes from under the video:
period for only full sentences. (IC)
comma for lists, connects 2 IC with FANBOYS, adjectives, and non-essential info.
For the notes under semi-colon, wouldn't "it helps me think clearly." be a DC??? that sentence should have a comma instead of a semicolon, no? "I love writing; it helps me think clearly."
Practice Problems:
1. During the 1990s, city planners added miles of new bike lanes to downtown streets ____ they hoped to reduce traffic congestion and air pollution.
C) streets; ✔️
ANSWER: C. There are two independent clauses given. C (the semicolon) is the only choice given that can separate them. Keep in mind that A is incorrect, since a comma is required to make "and" a valid separator of independent clauses.
2. Quandale Dingle ran out of the ____ pushing all of the rizzlers out of his way.
A) room, ✔️
ANSWER: A. There is an independent clause (Quandale Dingle ran out of the room) and a dependent clause (pushing all of the rizzlers out of the way). A and B are the only valid ways to separate the two. A is correct, since the "pushing all of the rizzlers..." part is describing the independent clause.
3. Every person has three goals in ____ eating, sleeping, and breathing.
C) life: ✔️
ANSWER: C. There is an independent clause (Every person has three goals in life) and a dependent clause (eating, sleeping, and breathing). C (the colon) makes sense, since the dependent clause is elaborating on the last part of the independent clause (three goals in life).
4. Last month, we took a trip to Zurich, Switzerland; ____ Germany; and London, England.
B) Munich, ✔️
ANSWER: B. This sentence uses a complex list. You can tell that by the instance of "; and." The list includes city names, and Munich is a city in Germany.
5. On January 10, my ____ everyone is nice to me (which is a stark difference from other days).
A) birthday, ✔️
ANSWER: A. "my birthday" is a piece of unnecessary information in the sentence. You do not need that phrase for the sentence to work properly.

I think I got lucky on this. I am usually very bad at Grammar. I will make review on this topic harder for me tomorrow. I will do another set of questions right now to ensure my pforessioncy on this topic.
Question 1
Although modern solar panels are significantly more efficient than earlier models ____ they still struggle to generate optimal electricity on overcast days.
I was gonna pick A, but I think the word although turns it into a DC. if it is a comma, its allows the 2nd part of the sentence to resolve it.
Question 2 ✔️
The archeological team uncovered three distinct artifacts at the site ____ a bronze dagger, an ornamental clay vase, and a worn silver coin.
Question 3
The lead scientist presented her findings to the board ____ however, several members questioned the methodology behind her data collection.
ANSWER: A comma alone cannot join two independent clauses with a transition word like however (that creates a comma splice). You need a semicolon before however:
Question 4
The international conference hosted delegates from Tokyo, Japan ____ Paris, France ____ and Toronto, Canada.
Question 5
The research team needed extra funding for their upcoming arctic expedition ____ for the specialized thermal gear alone would cost thousands of dollars.
ANSWER: Since both sides are complete independent clauses, a single comma creates a comma splice. You must use a semicolon (or a colon, since clause 2 explains why they need funding) to connect two full independent clauses without a FANBOYS conjunction.

Noo ho hoooo😭 this one was harder, I swearr. I'll review my mistakes anyway.
3) so if it has a transition word between 2 IC, there has to be a semi colon. got it
5) ah, semi colon. I didn't realize 'for' was FANBOYS.
Final set of question based off of my incorrections:
Question 1
The community center offered free tutoring programs after school ____ nevertheless, attendance remained surprisingly low throughout the fall semester.
Question 2
The company decided to delay the product launch until spring ____ tests revealed several technical bugs in the software.

ok I'm done, now get me out of here. Awh shoot, I need to do the desmos lesson 🥲 one more video, yay
Technique 1 - The Basics (From Desmos course)
After watching the video, I can conclude that I already knew everything besides the a= [#,#,#] and median (a) - mean (a)
I see that I have one more thing to do 😮💨
Step 1 - Comprehension (From reading Passage Course)
ughhh, just know that I followed along the video and got one question wrong 🥱💀
