Welcome!
Hello and welcome to my community! My hopes are to have open discussions about a range of topics related to non-toxic living. Including but not limited to... Dieting, Clothing, Toiletries, Cleaning Supplies, Social Media, and more. My question to you: what is one thing you are interested in learning more about here?
Sam Ovens - to do less, not a todo list...
Great 30 min video from Sam Ovens I just watched on productivity. I guarantee you that by watching this it will give you tangible actions that will improve your productivity. In short, to become productive is to REMOVE DISTRACTIONS. These distractions may not be the most apparent though... e.g. cooking, cleaning, doing laundry... things that we have to do. However, these things can be batched all at once. Sam gives the example of going to the grocery store and meal prepping on Sundays (and if you make enough bread, hire a personal chef... I'm not there just yet). However, other distractions you are most likely aware of, such as social medias and notifications on your phone/computer. I have made strides into dampening these, such as deleting instagram and turning off notifications for ALL apps except messages/phone calls. Though there is still work to be done... Michael Phelps' to do list: 1. Wake Up. 2. Get in pool. Simple as that. By having distractions, the finite amount of energy we have is dissipated in 10 different directions. We should be honing that energy into one single direction (i.e. Michael Phelps & swimming) and you'll see, it WILL pay off. Those who win are focused individuals!

What do you wear?
I think there is a good chunk of the population avoid Polyester, Nylon and other thermoplastics. This is GOOD! The less plastic we have rubbing against our skin the better, especially when it comes to workout clothes. The lesser known villain of the clothing world are the DYES that are present in nearly all clothing (cotton too). Alden Wicker, the journalist who investigated the 2018 Delta Airlines Uniforms that were giving flight attendants rashes, found that the dyes that are within our clothes can contain fungicides, pesticides, PFAS and more. Furthermore, just one article of clothing can contain up to 3000 (!) mystery chemicals we aren't aware of because there is no ingredient list for a shirt. Check her out on this great podcast she did w/ Non-Toxic Dad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVzS0OBWZfA&pp=ygUaYWxkZW4gd2lja2VyIG5vbiB0b3hpYyBkYWQ%3D My question to you - what brands do you wear? Here's a list of brands I have been trying to switch to: Dilling - 100% Non-Toxic Merino Wool (based in Denmark) Industry of All Nations - 100% Organic Non-Toxic Cotton Products Harvest & Mill - 100% Organic Non-Toxic Cotton Products Levi's Jeans - Naturally dyed jeans

Shower Thoughts - what do YOU consume everyday?
I know that there is not a lot of content in this community yet (it is all up in my head still!) but here's some food for thought to get your mind thinking in a different way. What do you consume every day that is toxic? Start from the moment you wake up. Roll over, rub your eyes enough so that you can unplug your phone and shine melatonin-blocking blue light into your eyes. Instantly spike your cortisol and heart rate by how damn dry your phone is, and set the mood for the morning thinking about how no one thinks of you. Rise from your polyester laden bedsheets, and make your way to your bathroom. Grab your plastic toothbrush, microbiome disrupting toothpaste and kill every living thing in your mouth. Perhaps you take a shower, and dump chemicals and hair killing products on your scalp. You then get dressed in 100% polyester underwear and toxic dyes in the name of "comfort." By the time you leave the door, you already disrupted your natural hormone production by all aspects of your daily living - yet nobody tells you this, and frankly no one cares. We have normalized the toxic behaviors we as a society have grown into. Big corporations are poisoning us at every single turn throughout the day to cut corners on costs, and we sit here and take it like a good boy? It is time to start questioning everything that you consume throughout the day. TL;DR My challenge to you - meticulously keep note of everything you consume for JUST ONE morning. Start there, and then move on to your afternoons and evenings. You will be disgusted when you start to keep track of these harmful habits...
What to expect from this community.
Hello and welcome to my community. There will likely be some name changes in the next few days until I find something that rolls off the tongue. I built this page since I wanted to make a community for people looking for non-toxic alternatives to products (like myself) to have an all-in-one resource to access. I will write about topics ranging from diet and lifestyle to the clothes you wear everyday to social media use. My goal is to educate beyond mainstream changes you may have heard of (filtering tap water, avoiding seed oils, etc.) though, they will be covered as well. The claims I make on this page will be back by peer-reviewed research with links to the study I quote. In terms of any credentials I have... I don't have much. I am not a Doctor or Dentist or Physical Therapist. But I strongly believe that the modern way of living is tainted, and big corps line their pockets while you get sicker. Who I really am is simply a hyper curious 23-y/o man who is tired of poison that is being fed to us in all facets of our lives. I have been interested in bettering my life for most of those 23 years, and I will include personal anecdotes when applicable. To anyone who is reading this, I appreciate you taking the time to read my first post lol.
