I'll go first. I love that moment in birth when a client has been saying "I can't do this"... and then something shifts. It's like something ancient takes over. They go primal and they just... do it. Every time. 🤍 I never get tired of witnessing that shift. What do you love witnessing? What do you love about this job?

Is there anything special or unique you like to share at postpartum visits?? I'll go first! I always offer scalp massage. I think it's so regulating and nourishing for mama to receive this and hold baby on her chest. Almost all of my clients fall asleep to it. Who doesn't love their hair played with and their scalp touched lightly!!? Curious what else you all like to do

just curious how other doulas manage to stay grounded and well-rested with the some of the more nervous energy or excitement of "mama could go into labor any day!" keeping my phone on at all times and checking it several times during the night, just in case...i am realizing it can take me out of the present and focusing on the future. curious if anyone has preparation or rhythms they practice?
