Workout Guide
Hi Everyone! Two things I hear often is "how do I build muscle or get toned?" and "how much protein do I need to get toned?" It's really quite simple. You need to work the muscles to build strength and tone and you need to eat enough nourishing food daily that has glucose and amino acids. You can provide your muscles with all the aminos acids and glucose needed to get toned, but if you're not actively working the muscle nothing will happen. Fruits are one of the best foods to support our muscles both in fueling a workout and in recovery. So it's easy to take the first step: eat more fruit. The next may be more difficult: be more active and lift more weights. You don't have to be lifting crazy heavy weights. You can simply lift whatever feels challenging or even just start with body weight. If you are curious where to start comment WORKOUT and I'll send you my 7-day workout guide!

Last week I had a great session with one of my amazing clients and we were discussing how nutrition is not an instruction manual that you can't just write up what you do and give it to another friend or family member and have it work for them. Nutrition is very individual. We all go through our own journey. 🏝️ While sure, there are general tips that I could give someone like "eat more fruit" or "lower your fat intake," but what that exactly will look like for you versus for me or versus for my client will be completely different. πŸŸ£πŸŸ§πŸ”·πŸŸ‘πŸ”ΊπŸŸ© The way each one of us apply different nuggets of nutritional information to our lives is so individual. This is why when someone asks me or any one of my clients to "just write down what you do and I'll do that" won't work. You have no connection to those set of instructions or habits. Plus, those instructions don't take into account your specific health situation and needs. Sure, I share exactly what eat and my suggestions with you all on Instagram, but how you apply my knowledge and information to your own life with look completely different. And that is okay!πŸ˜„ It should look different, because you are a totally different person than me. β˜€οΈ We all need to be willing to learn our own way to health and optimal nutrition. Yes, having the guidance of a friend or coach, like myself, is useful, but we cannot expect to take someone else's exact habits and apply them to our own lives.

I drank out of a plastic water bottle for the first time… in AGES
On Friday night I went out dancing.Β πŸͺ©πŸ’ƒπŸΌπŸ•ΊπŸ» Before, I went to my favorite spot in LA, Kavahana for some Kava nectar drinks! If you aren’t familiar with Kava, let me know! I can do a post about it! I also had the founders of Kavahana on my podcast a while back!Β πŸŽ™οΈ Unfortunately, there are no early bird dance spots here in LA or maybe anywhere? Someone needs to get on that, I think it would be super popular! πŸ˜‰ So if I am in the mood to go dancing I have to stay up past my bedtime. And every once in a while I have an itch to go out dancing! Disco balls and all! It’s good for the soul! My friend and I were out hyped up dancing on Kava nectar, and I got a bit dehydrated and needed water. My options: tap water or plastic bottled water. Normally I’d have a jar of juice on me and this wouldn’t be a factor. But I didn’t bring juice (rookie mistake). πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ I went with the plastic bottled water with 250,000ppm of microplastics.πŸ˜‘ Tap is just more toxic and tastes terrible. 🀒 It dawned on me though that I hadn’t drank water out of plastic in years! And rather than freak out about drinking out of the plastic, I was proud of myself for being so consistent for so many years! 🌟 I felt that this was a good reminder that we don’t need to be perfect all the time. Just be as consistent as you possibly can and be proud of that!Β πŸ₯³
