🎬 Need a Promo Reel on a Budget?
Here’s a creative way to get professional content without breaking the bank 👇🏽 If you’re trying to break into the cruise industry, you already know that having a strong promo reel can make a huge difference. But hiring a professional videographer, renting equipment, and paying for editing can get expensive quickly. So here’s a strategy you may not have considered: 🎥 Reach out to your local university or college with a film, media, communications, or digital production department. Connect with the department head, professor, or students who are looking for opportunities to gain real-world experience and build their portfolios. You may find a talented student who would be willing to film and edit your promo reel as a portfolio project, class project, or hands-on experience. You bring the talent and the vision. They bring their creativity and technical skills. You get professional-looking promotional content that you can use to market yourself and showcase your talent. They get real-world experience, content for their portfolio, and a project they can proudly show future employers or clients. WIN. WIN. 🤝🏽 The key is to approach them professionally. Have a clear idea of what you need, be respectful of their time, discuss expectations upfront, and make sure everyone agrees on how the final video can be used. Sometimes the resources you need are already in your community, you just have to know where to look. Don’t let a limited budget stop you from creating the reel you need to get to break into the industry.

Hello! Does the sizzle reel have to be with a band or can it also be done with backing tracks?
Body Shaming in the Cruise Ship Industry - Curvy Girl Edition 💕🚢
Hi friends! 👋🏽 I’ve seen a lot of comments lately about body shaming in the cruise industry and questions like, “Do I have to be a certain size to get booked?” So, I made a video. Unfortunately, I can relate to the insecurities that can come with navigating this industry, especially when it comes to body image and feeling like you have to fit a certain look to be successful. But I will say, things have shifted and evolved a lot, at least here in America, and I think it’s important to talk about that change while also acknowledging that there’s still work to be done. 🎥 Check out the video and let me know: Have you ever experienced body shaming or felt like you had to look a certain way to get booked?

Glad to be here. 🙂
Hello everyone. I am new here. Hi Martina! Is it possible to move from being a cruise ship lounge singer to becoming a guest entertainer? I’ve been performing as a lounge singer on cruise ships for the past three years, and after seeing the guest entertainers onboard, I’ve been inspired to pursue that path as well if given the opportunity. I’m still working on my show. I was just wondering if it’s possible for me to make that transition in the future, if I qualify. I watched your YouTube videos about the requirements, and I was wondering if there are any passport or nationality restrictions. Or does it depend on the itinerary? For example, if the entertainer is from Asia, would they only be offered shows on Asian itineraries, or can they perform on cruises worldwide? Thanks!
