Over the last 10 years it seems the number of BCBA’s in the school systems has greatly increased, however from my experience most of that expansion is for “behavior reduction”. To me it feels like there is still marked room to see the science accomplish real meaningful change for our young ones!
What do you see as the greatest opportunities within the school systems to be able to increase impact of behavior analysis? Do you have any current directions to make this happen or are there any barriers you are trying to overcome before putting it in to action? I am excited to hear everyone’s thoughts and visions!
My Teams current direction here:
1. we have a 5 year plan to implement our brief assessment/skill building learning center model through “resource teachers” in SPED, empowering active skill building through a system designed for 1-2 hours per week.
