Has anyone heard of the Ultradian Rhythm? The brain works in natural cycles of activity and rest called the ultradian rhythm. As a general guide 120 minutes of activity followed by 20 minutes of recovery. Our brain isn't designed to be on go, go, ,go all day. And recovery doesn't mean scrolling on the phone. Stepping outside, some breathwork, walking, stretching, or having a cuppa, or simply doing nothing helps aid recovery. These mini breaks give our brain and nervous system a chance to reset, rather than staying in constant stress mode. So understanding this matters a lot for reducing menopause symptoms, for stress regulation, for brain health and for our quality of sleep too. Rest isn't being unproductive, it's part of how our brain is designed to function.
