Breakfast Challenge
Wow, the breakfast challenge is going off!! It's just me! Got to start somewhere. Who is interested in participating in a daily breakfast challenge? If we start the day strong by frontloading our first meal with high protein, high fibre and complex carbs we are setting ourselves up for success in terms of balanced energy and hormone balance, reducing sugar cravings and reducing overeating. Do you know how much protein you should be aiming for in terms of your height, weight and activity levels? If not, let me know in the chat and I can help you out.. Here is an example of my breakfast this morning. A cup of TVP (Textured vegetable protein) vegetables, tofu and eggs. I also added some wholegrain toast and avocado. This breakfast got me close to 40gms of protein.

Great work Helen! Obviously this breakfast works well for you. How does it make you feel? Does it get you through to lunchtime without thinking about food?

My breakfast is always a work in progress, If i don't eat enough protein and fibre i find im reaching for starchy carbs which isn't helpful so I'm eating meat now for the most part for breakfast and this keeps me satiated. It's TVP Helen. Textured Vegetable Protein, similar to meat in texture but plant based, I really like it!
Breathwork And Face Yoga Masterclass
Hi all, Next Monday's Masterclass We will be doing an hour of bliss with face yoga, and head and neck stretches as well as a breathwork session. Your breath is one of the simplest tools you have for managing stress in menopause. Slow, intentional breathing can help shift your nervous system into the parasympathetic state for rest and recovery. This can be done fairly quickly also. It's a simple tool to use: Before a nerve wrecking event If you are feeling fatigued When anxiety is high To help you wind down before bed When your brain feels foggy Nasal breathing also increases nitric oxide which supports blood flow and helps keep airways open. This can help support better breathing during sleep and potentially help with snoring. Please have ready a bowl of warm water and essential oils if you have any. See you next Monday, 14th, 7pm :)
