Question - Routing to a different output

So I'm trying to get the hang of routing and sending things to a different output, mostly for the ability to send my reference track to one output, and all my other tracks to another one. After watching a bunch of videos, I've learned you need to send them to a different "output bus". So I tried to move all of my tracks except the reference track to one output (I chose Bus 1), and then I sent my reference track to Bus 2. This worked for my reference track (AKA, I was able to control just my reference track with the Bus 2 AUX fader), but for some reason only a few of my instruments went to Bus 1, and the rest just kept playing on their own. I don't know if these screenshots will help, but does anyone know what's going on?

(In the screenshots, I muted the bus that I put all my instruments on, and half the instruments were still playing)
