Mastering Final / Question
I have a feeling what I'm doing is very wrong. Looking at the Ref track - Antihero with 2 Paz Analyzers, one on Main track, one on Reference. And messing with EQ to try to match the curve correctly which is hell 🤣 I'm going to focus on listening, and using the EQ chart instead and getting as close to the Reference as possible that way. My question is, would that be a huge mistake, to just go off of the analyzer and make moves to try and match it?

LOUDMAX EXERCISE
so very interesting, when I was doing the limiting exercise for there is fire, I realized with Loudmax's ceiling at -1db I could not get to -9 RMS at all! Not until I changed my ceiling to -0.1 Db. I cranked up the gain on the track, as well as the volume to the TOP, and it still didn't get to -9 RMS, until I changed my ceiling! Don't know if I did it right, but pretty cool to figure that out lol. Let me know guys. :)

Producer 101- Notes Comparison Discussion?
I know some of you have already done this. I know some are on it right now. I am curious as to how/what you guys did or got to and such. I mean there is no one but ourselves checking out our work, unless we do a mentor call right? Well, we can check each others work out and then we can leave the more important things or whatever it may be for mentor calls. Though these are basics and probably as important as anything else, however trivial it may seem. Reference track analyses/eqing, do you guys build your profile with whole song, then eq by comparing the profiles? Or just parts of it here and there? Limiting to RMS -9, Did you do this over the entirety of the song, or by analyzing parts of the song? how did you go about achieving it? Some analyzers are momentary, and some build upon the value. Were you happy with the results after compression/saturation/EQ etc and then Limiting to -9RMS? Did you feel the changes were sufficient to the song mixes, or do you feel that they're just showing us some processes to ensure we understand what the tools do, to move forward? Something to get us all interacting I hope. \m/ I wasn't quite happy with the results I got, so I didn't bother saving the files even. But if you guys would like to check it or compare, I'll just redo a bit later when/if I get that chance.

Commitment Statement
If there's one thing that I've learnt, it's that no matter how well someone teaches you, they can't learn for you. Put in the work. Do the reps. Don't expect shortcuts. Learn and teach. Ken and kin.

What DAW Do Y'all Use?
I am curious to find out what DAWs are being used. More importantly, does the DAW matter more than the skill put into using it? I personally use Cakewalk.

I produce on FL and mix on Logic so I didn’t select one lol

@Jasper Labuschagne lol, I think it would be cool to do everything in Logic, maybe one day but I doubt it, because I definitely do love FL for production. Mixed on there once, but nah lol. Not bad, but with these courses I already have Logic so it made sense to use it.
