Hello fellow 1st year teachers! My name is Sonja Robinson and I’m here to walk you through your 1st year of teaching. I have been teaching 1st grade since 2012. I have my Bachelor’s from Chicago State University and I currently attend National Louis University for my Master’s in Elementary Education. I have been recognized as Distinguished Teacher in 2017, 2024, and 2025. I pride myself in my strengths as a teacher: classroom management, parent engagement, and teaching curriculum with fidelity. My classroom is everywhere!
No, I don’t teach at a school. No, I can never envision myself teaching children in a classroom. It’s not my calling- I leave that up to the gifted ones❤️ However, I’m a teacher wherever I go. In my home, at my job, the grocery store,etc. You can teach someone through conversation or by your character. There’s so much hate in the world. Show someone how to love and be selfless. You may not think no one is watching; someone is ALWAYS watching 👀
