Fingerprint Help Needed - Canada - RCMP etc.
Just finished the live training which was great, but still feeling like I may have just wasted $400 - Is there anyone in this group in Canada offering fingerprinting services that is NOT RCMP accredited? After the live training today I was hoping to get started, but still have some hesitations. I can not find anyone in Canada that is doing just ink roll prints and that is also not RCMP accredited. I have googled and googled and can’t find anyone offering FBI prints or FD258 etc that is not RCMP accredited in Canada.
RCMP website states the following: “Private agencies must be accredited by the RCMP's Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services (CCRTIS) in order to provide fingerprinting services to the public.”…
In addition Identigo.ca states the following: “Effective July 1st 2014 the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, RCMP, will not accept mailed fingerprint cards and require that all submissions be made electronically. Inked fingerprint cards will only be accepted under certain special circumstances. All others will be returned to the applicant unprocessed.”
While it is understood that live scan is the only accepted method for Canadian RCMP submission, the RCMP doesn’t seem to distinguish between live scan and ink roll in terms of private business that are actually allowed to offer any fingerprinting service (digital or card) even if you are not submitting that card to the RCMP (ie. the customer would submit it themselves to the FBI). It doesn’t seem to matter. It seems you still have to be RCMP accredited as long as you are a fingerprinting service in Canada (live scan or not)
I have contacted the RCMP several times and am still waiting for a response…
I appreciate any feedback from anyone with any information on this point.
Thanks.
