As ive been growing deeper in my coaching role for striking, Iβve begun having a different relationship with my bagwork.
I used to do rounds and rounds of just mindlessly hitting the bag, not thinking too much, just striking and flowing π
And that type of work is still good to do - it gets you into a flow state with your striking and conditions your body and mind πͺ
That said, Iβm now putting more effort into sharpening particular tools on the bag in a given round βοΈ
For example, now I will do a certain drill, combo, or execute a particular strike OVER and OVER to make it smoother, faster and hit harder.
Doing this has made my strikes and movements look and feel sharper , especially for filming content. Iβve come to learn this is the path towards actual improvement in my striking.
Key π Takeaway: Pick a weapon, and sharpen it over and over for a given round to see real improvements!
