I’m Athena. Active firefighter, CrossFit coach, and fire academy instructor. But at 29 I was a desk worker with no athletic background, four kids at home, and a dream I almost talked myself out of.
One woman — a firefighter and mom — took me under her wing and walked me through everything. Fitness, CPAT, academy, hired. She changed my life and I promised myself I’d pay it forward.
I’ve since helped women go from beginners to hired firefighters, co-founded California Fire Women nonprofit, and created the MPC Girls Fire Camp — first of its kind in Monterey County.
