Repentance isn’t just for “Big Sins”
I talked to my missionary yesterday and she said something that stopped me in my tracks. She mentioned they repent all the time. My first thought was — repent of what? These are missionaries. Obedient, set-apart, doing everything right. That question sent me on a deep dive into the Book of Mormon on repentance. And when I connected it to what I know about mindset and unbelief, it hit me. Repentance isn’t the punishment we think it is, AND it’s not just for the “big” sins. We get to repent of so much more — the doubt, the fear, the way we talk to ourselves, the ways we’ve stopped believing we can become who Christ sees us as. We can’t close that gap without Him! Repentance means turning back toward Christ, over and over. I have a whole list of what I’ve been working through on this — way too much for one caption. 👇 Comment REPENT if you want to go deeper on this with me.

What do you choose?
Sisters, Have you ever felt like you had to choose between your family and your personal growth? Last week, I was in a 2 part training that I had already invested a considerable amount of time, money, and energy in, and it had the potential to change a lot for me. I got so excited after the first session that I completely forgot that my husband had already booked a weekend trip to take our daughter and our new foreign exchange student to a concert. I was in a conundrum if I couldn’t commit to all four days, I’d have to walk away. I would lose my money, and more importantly the opportunity for growth. On the other hand, if I chose the workshop, I would be letting my family down, and put them all in an awkward situation. Talk about good, better and best! In the end, I chose my family. It cost me, yeah, but in prayer and a Priesthood blessing I felt that peace that surpasses understanding. I am holding fast to the promises God told me and standing back to watch His miracles unfold in my life. I’ve learned you don’t have to choose between becoming who God created you to be and strengthening your family. With him, there’s a way for both. What do you do to take care of both your self and yout family?
