General Conference is this weekend, and I made two things for your family. Both are attached to this post, and both are free. For your kids: Book of Mormon Hero Bingo There are 4 different cards in the file. Print a different page for each child so they don't all get bingo at the same time. How to play: 1. Each square has a hero and something that hero is known for. Nephi obeyed when it was hard. Enos prayed. Abish shared her testimony. 2. While they watch, kids listen for a speaker to talk about that thing. When they hear it, they mark the square. 3. The middle square is Jesus. The first time someone says His name, they mark it. (That one goes fast.) 4. Five in a row is a bingo. 5. When they get one, they fill in the two lines at the bottom: which hero they want to be like this week, and one thing they'll do. ( Add a fun treat for the winner if you want) Don't skip the last step. That's where they stop listening for a word and start thinking about what kind of hero they want to be like -of course we are all trying to be like Jesus! Little ones who can't read yet can still play. Tell them what each picture means and help them listen for it. For you and your teenagers: My Three Questions Before the first session, write down three things you want to improve or have questions about. Then listen. Sometimes the answer comes from the speaker. Sometimes it comes from the Holy Ghost whispering to you, through a sudden idea, a reoccurring thought, a feeling of peace, or however you know the Lord speaks to you. For each one, the page asks you: - What answer did I hear? - What does the Lord want me to do with it? - How will I know I have implemented the prompting I received? I did this once with three questions I was desperate to have answered. Every answer was the opposite of what I wanted, and I have never felt so much peace. Have you ever looked around at all the different churches and wondered… “Why are there so many churches—and why do some of them teach completely different things?” If you’ve ever asked that question, you’re not so different from Joseph Smith. He had questions. He didn’t know which church was true. So he did something incredibly simple: He asked God.
