Ok. So I'm one of those weirdos who love snakes. Any animal, fur, feather or scale, is of interest to me. They take me on a deep dive of hyper-focus so I can learn all about them. This is our resident EB, Eastern Brown, who seems ever so confident being in the house yard. Geese absolutely have it all over Guinea fowl when it comes to snakes. Being on a property, we see loads of snakes. Keelbacks are the most common, followed by the yellow faced whipsnake, red belly blacks, tree snakes, and our feed shed python, Hiss. This is me and some of my babies. Hartley and Barney are rescues adopted from Til The Cows Come Home. Most of our animals are rescues or rehomed from elsewhere. We plan on having a community centre and cabins and camping on the property to help build connections for those of us in the disability community. Apart from being an AUDHer, I have hEDS, and a mitochondrial disorder called MELAS. My animals are both my friends and my therapy, and although they are rescues, I know they've rescued me right back. Do you also have animals that light you up with joy? I love all my animals, but I have a little buck called Ted (#tedtheminigoat), who has my whole heart.
