Is Your Work Rhythm Harmful… or Exactly Right for Your Age?
As I woke from my afternoon nap I found myself asking ChatGPT about the times of day I work and enjoy activity. “Is my daily work rhythm actually good for me at 57?” I was wondering how work cycles align with trends biologically. - Midlife hormone shifts - Metabolism changes - Mental focus frustrations The answer was essentially: ✅ Your rhythm matches exactly how a 50-plus brain and body actually work. While I wasn’t surprised, it felt good to be validated. Here’s a rough sketch of a usual day: - Morning meditation & movement around 5 - Calibration 5:30am (Skool ../selfmastery) - Work 6am to 1/2 - Eat & move or walk - Rest or nap around 3ish - Work again 4 to 7/8ish Writing my book happens during evening unwind Keys for success: - Avoid calls before 11am - No caffeine after 2 - No eating after 8pm Usually skip the nap for focused flow from noon to 6/7 when I do a one-day Skool build You don't get tired when you're in the zone 🌅 Morning: The “don’t talk to me yet, I’m busy bring brilliant” zone From about 6am through early afternoon, my brain is sharp. This is when I want to: - think - write - solve problems - build things - work quietly It’s not a good time for talking or tending to other people's priorities. So I usually don’t book calls before 11. I guard that time fiercely as it is my time for highest quality output. ☀️ Afternoon: The natural dip Everyone over 40 gets this mid-afternoon slowdown. If you fight it, it beats you down later. I close my eyes for a bit, recharge, and come back refreshed again. 🌙 Evening: The creative zone Evenings aren’t for heavy decisions. They are perfect for writing, editing, reflecting, and anything that feels creative or expressive. My book comes out of this window. Not the “sharp focus” morning cycle. In fact, I have to be careful not to slip until a Canva creation rabbit hole where I occasionally stay up too late with eyes glazed from too long looking at devices.

The WISE Way of Simple Community Building Without Tech Overwhelm or Burnout
A lot of people avoid starting a community because they think it’s going to be complicated. Too much tech. Too many moving parts. Too many decisions. It doesn’t have to be that way. The WISE way keeps everything simple, doable, and stress-free so you can focus on connecting with people instead of wrestling with tools and tech. Here’s what that looks like. 1. Start small on purpose You don’t need a complicated setup. Most communities only need: - a welcome post - a pinned guide - one reason for people to join - one place for updates Simple foundations keep the whole thing easy to grow. 2. Build around one clear outcome People join when they know what they’re going to get. Your community needs one main purpose, not twelve. When the goal is clear, the rest falls into place. 3. Talk to the people who show up You don’t need a giant list, audience or following. Find the right people ... even if it’s three of them. Real conversations do more for a community than any fancy feature. 4. Keep the tech minimal Skool already gives you: - posts - courses - memberships - messaging - events - upgrades No need for extra plugins, multiple platforms, or expensive tools. The more you strip away, the easier it is to maintain. 5. Create at the pace you can actually keep You don’t need daily posts or constant activity. A steady rhythm that fits your life is all you need. People stay when the energy feels consistent not frantic. 6. Adjust as you go Communities grow in layers over time. It won't be perfect at the start. Nothing ever is. Release the unrealistic expectations. Add things when you need them or by community request. Remove things when they get in the way or no longer add value. Your community will tell you what it needs next. The WISE way summed up:

on decisions to do vs. decisions about life
Most people think success is about the decisions to do: 👉 Start a business 👉 Lose the weight 👉 Make the money In a recent video (see comments) David Bayer points out there’s a deeper layer These are just seeds If the soil you plant them in is toxic ... limiting beliefs like “money is scarce” or “I’m not enough” ... the seeds never grow 🌱 How They Work Together To Do = “I will plant an oak tree.” About = “The soil is fertile and supports growth.” Without fertile soil, the seed dies, no matter how often you replant. That’s where decisions about life come in. 🌱 Not what you’re going to do… but what you decide is true about yourself and the world. Choosing positive reinforcement: ✨ “I am worthy of love and success.” ✨ “Money is abundant.” ✨ “Life works for me, not against me.” When you shift those about-life decisions, the to-do decisions flourish almost automatically. The real breakthrough? 👉 Beliefs are just decisions. And ... you can make new ones at any moment 🤩 This is true in your business growth too. If you believe tech is difficult, that building an online community is overwhelming and means posting content constantly, then that’s exactly the reality you’ll live. Hustle. Exhaustion. Crickets. No money, time or energy 😣 However, if you believe creating community is simple - and Skool makes it simple - then resistance falls away. You can just start, tend the garden, and watch it flourish… without smothering it or constantly digging up the seeds to see if they're growing. 🌟 It's simple simplified with the Skool Quickstart Setup inside the WISE Skool Building community. ABC ... 123 🤓 If you’re ready to make the shift and set yourself (and your community) up for success, come join us! Spots are limited and filling fast 🚀 See you there!
