I had a breakthrough recently that completely changed how I approach sales—and it had nothing to do with pricing or pitch decks.
It was all about asking better questions.
Too often, we default to yes/no questions like “Are you interested in our solution?” But these tend to shut down conversations rather than open them up.
Instead, I've started leaning into open-ended, strategic questions like:
👉 “What specific marketing challenges are impacting your quarterly goals?”
This kind of question creates space for real dialogue. It allows prospects to share what's actually going on—in their own words. And when they do that, something powerful happens: they start building the case for your solution themselves.
I’ve also noticed a shift in tone. When you're asking thoughtful, personalized questions, you move from “salesperson” to collaborative problem solver. You’re showing respect for their expertise, not pushing a product.
Every strong question moves the conversation forward—for both sides. Your prospect gains clarity, and you gain the insight needed to tailor your solution meaningfully.
