Generally, LinkedIn does not notify users when someone removes them as a connection. The person won't receive any alert or message about the disconnection.
However, there are a few ways they might notice:
- If they visit your profile, they'll see that you're no longer 1st-degree connections.
- Your updates may stop appearing in their feed.
- If they have a small network and actively monitor their connection count, they might notice the decrease.
For most users, especially those with large networks, a removed connection will likely go unnoticed unless they specifically check your profile or their connection list.
If you want to ensure the person can't see your profile at all, consider using LinkedIn's "block" feature instead. When you block someone, they won't be able to view your profile or any of your activity on the platform.
Remember that professional etiquette is important on LinkedIn, so consider your reasons carefully before removing connections or blocking users.
I remove people who are not active on LinkedIn or that do not respond to me for a while and also do not seem to be active.
