What are you ready to let go of in the new year?
As a new year begins, many people hope for a fresh start. Letting go of things that no longer serve us can create more space — not only in our homes, but also in our hearts and minds.
Recently, I saw a picture on Threads about “50 Things to Let Go of in 2026,” and it really inspired me. It reminded me that decluttering is not just about cleaning — it’s about loving yourself and making space for a better life.
Here are five types of decluttering I want to focus on as I welcome 2026:
1️⃣ Physical Space Decluttering
空間上的斷捨離
When you start with your space, your heart often follows. For example: broken appliances that never get fixed, torn items you keep saying “I can still use this,” empty jars, boxes, and paper bags.
A clean space brings a lighter mood and a happier heart.
2️⃣ Phone & Digital Decluttering
手機與數位斷捨離
This includes old conversations with people you no longer talk to, apps you never use, or social media accounts that make you feel anxious.
After deleting them, you may feel lighter almost instantly.
3️⃣ Daily Habits Decluttering
生活習慣的斷捨離
For example: always putting yourself last, small tasks you keep procrastinating on, or food that only leaves you feeling guilty.
Loving yourself starts with small daily choices.
4️⃣ Relationships & Emotional Decluttering (Most Important)
關係與情緒的斷捨離(最重要)
Let go of emotions where you constantly blame yourself, expectations others place on you, or efforts that were never truly appreciated.
Loving yourself also means clearing space in your heart.
5️⃣ Making Space for 2026
為 2026 留空間
This includes fear of change, carrying all responsibilities on your own, or a lifestyle that no longer fits who you are today.
Loving yourself means being brave enough to welcome a beautiful 2026.
