The grief no one talks about 🥹
The day your child receives a diagnoses (for us it was with a rare genetic condition) or the day when you realise your child is travelling a different path can be the beginning of a grief you never expected 💔 It’s grieving the child you had visualised & the future you had imagined. The milestones you thought would come easily. It’s the “what ifs.” & the “why us?”🥹 It’s mourning the life you thought your child would have, while learning to navigate a path you never planned and would never have chosen. I can remedy this overwhelming feeling of sadness ❣️ And here’s the part that can feel confusing… You can love your child with every part of your heart and still grieve them! ❤️‍🩹 Those two feelings can exist together. Grief doesn’t mean you love your child any less ( I loved my son so much I just wanted him to have a ‘normal’ life). It means you’re processing the loss of the life you imagined, while embracing the beautiful child who is right in front of you. Over time, the grief softens. It doesn’t disappear completely (& you will find yourself at times wondering what it must be like for your friends with kids who aren’t on this path) but it makes room for acceptance, hope, joy, and a love deeper than you ever knew was possible.🧡 If you’re in those early days, please know this: Your feelings are valid. You are not alone and in my opinion it’s essential to feel all of these feelings in order to become a much stronger version of you. Freedom, healing and acceptance will come when you completely surrender and let go of what might have been, embrace what is and look forward to what can be. I promise you it won’t be easy but it will be worth it - your child chose you 🥰 One breath.💚 One day.💜 One step at a time. 💛 Sending you all much love on your journey G
We all have mountains ⛰️
Some are visible to the world. Others are carried quietly in our hearts ♥️ For so long, we can spend our energy pretending everything is fine, hoping that if we ignore the hard things, they’ll somehow disappear. But healing doesn’t begin with pretending. It begins with acknowledging 🥹 The moment we stop denying the mountain is the moment we can start climbing it🧗🏼‍♂️ As a parent, especially on a different path, I’ve learned that acceptance isn’t giving up—it’s choosing courage, it’s making a decision that our circumstances or situation won’t define me or my family. It’s looking at the reality in front of me and saying, “This is hard, but I will keep going.” 💪🏼🥰 You don’t have to climb your mountain in one day. One step is enough. One breath. One act of courage. Just remember… mountains aren’t there to stop us. They are there to help us grow & reveal just how strong we become as we climb which in the process will make you a version of yourself you never knew existed 💛 Wishing you all a blessed Sunday 💜 G xx

We all have mountains ⛰️
Hi all
Apologies for the lack of posts this last week or so, we’ve just been on a little bit of a road trip and did Legoland for a few days. Ben did brillant he coped really well with the change in environment and transitions considering it’s quite hot here in London at the minute and of course legoland is just an over load of sensory stimulation. They do have a great sensory room which we were able to avail of on the 2nd day which was brillant. We can certainly see the impact now that this last year of therapy is having on Ben he is able to process and tolerate so much more. Bens is now about to undertake 3 weeks of intensive therapy in the NAPA (Neurological and Physical Abilitation) centre, London. We will be sharing his journey on his Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ben_morethanyouknow?igsh=MXd4djh1MG45ZzYxNQ%3D%3D&utm_source=qr

To the parents…..
…..who spent today advocating, comforting, explaining, supporting, and showing up when nobody else saw… you’re doing better than you think. In fact your doing amazing✨ Some days progress looks like a breakthrough. Other days progress looks like simply making it through the day. Both count 🥰 Regardless, remember today’s now gone but tomorrow’s a new day ☀️🌈 I see you and you’ve got this 💪🏼❤️

For anyone that woke up this morning feeling less than enough….
…..this is your reminder you are more than enough ✨ No matter what your situation or circumstances are, you are on your path for a reason, we might not always like it, it most definitely probably wouldn’t have been a path you d have chosen for yourself or your family but guess what you are on it and you can’t change it, but you can decide to make the most of it and find the good……….let go of what isn’t and focus on what is and what could be 💕 Trust for whatever reason this is how it’s ment to be and know you are the best equipped for this job 💖🥰 https://youtu.be/wXxArQbJ0YY?is=F5c6c9KEx3ZuA-2Y
