“Your ego protects you from embarrassment more than it guides you to greatness.”
The ego is always trying to keep us safe. Safe from looking stupid. Safe from failing. Safe from being seen trying. But the things we actually want require us to step out of that safety.
We’re not naturally going to feel like pushing ourselves. Comfort is easy. Comfort is automatic. Growth is not.
The key is to notice when that voice shows up, the one that says “not today,” “you’re not ready,” “do it later.”
That’s the ego trying to keep you small.
When that moment hits, that’s the rep.
That’s the rep that changes you.
That’s the rep that moves you closer to who you said you wanted to become.
You don’t grow by staying where it’s comfortable.
You grow by choosing the uncomfortable thing on purpose.
Don’t let your ego keep you from the great things that are waiting for you.
