A New Me
I have spent most of my life watching what I eat, trying every new exercise craze that hits our shores, and checking my weight. I always felt bigger than everyone else, so being in control of what I ate and when was important to me. When I hit perimenopause, I had no more control. Eating like a bird, as my husband calls it, and exercising every day wasn't enough. It wasn't until I learned how hormones work, how to curate my recipes to make them work for me, collagen, cortisol, and my nervous system, that I began to relax and feel better. It wasn't really about weight so much as it was about feeling energised to do the things I wanted to do. I wanted a good night's sleep and to be able to function without feeling foggy. Pumping chemicals into my body was something I wanted no part in but I was acutely aware that it might be the thing that helped me. This is my story. I hope all the lessons in this classroom will help you understand your body, how it functions and how to help you. Take your time, as I did, to try new natural remedies. Come to our monthly discussions and let's support every woman you know. What is it that helps you? Please don't tell me it's cold showers, that's one thing I cannot entertain 🤒
