Made it and finished!
Hello all, I hope you are well. I made it to the start line today, against all the struggles of the last few weeks, I haven’t shared publicly, here goes, this feel like a safe space for all the information. The day after my last half marathon (4 weeks ago) my Dad passed away the day before his funeral I got the news that I will need surgery to prevent further DVT and I spent Thursday this week I hospital with excessive bleeding. The doctor gave me some medication and the all clear, and encouragement, to race as it’s good for me an all aspects. It was hard fought for finish today, the fatigue from the above shows up at around 8k and it was a physical and mental fight to keep going. I kept going for he joy is running, it’s a tough route but I love it. Thank you all for the support I love having the space with you all 🩷

WAKE-UP CALL! 🌟💥
This may or may not pertain to running, but it does pertain to falling and getting back up when everything say to stay down. And yall are my people. Today, I'm facing adversity head-on! 💪 For 12 years, I've been battling incredible challenges since losing my leg below the knee. Every day is a fight, a puzzle to solve, a problem to overcome. BUT I'M NOT JUST SURVIVING, I'M THRIVING! 🌈 I slipped yesterday, I fell, I bled, (a lot) and I struggled. BUT NOW WE RISE! 🔥 I've learned that walking isn't a luxury, life is a gift, it's a privilege. And today, I'm reminded of the hardship of not having a leg. BUT AGAIN,,, I'M NOT LETTING IT DEFINE ME! 💥 Instead, I'm using this setback as an opportunity to focus on my core balance, to rediscover what I've taken for granted, and to uncover new strengths. I'm showing up, even when it's hard, and I'm finding a new version of myself - a better, stronger, more adaptable version! 💪 I'm grateful for this chance to reboot, to refocus, and to rise above. And I know YOU CAN DO THE SAME! 🌟 If I can overcome, you can too! Let's stand up, stand tall, and meet ourselves where we are. Let's get this job done! 💥 We're in this together!

I’m learning to run all over again but this is what it means to me
Running isn't just about the miles you log or the finish line you cross. It's about the battles you fight within yourself, the doubts you silence, and the fears you face head-on. When you're out there on the road, you're not just running from point A to point B, you're running towards a new version of yourself. You're meeting the best and worst of yourself, and it's in those moments of solitude that you discover your true strength. You're tearing down the walls you've built around yourself, and you're building new ones that are stronger, higher, and more resilient. Every step you take is a victory over the doubts that creep in, every mile you conquer is a testament to your willpower, and every finish line you cross is a declaration of your triumph over your own limitations. You're not just running; you're rewriting the story of what's possible for yourself. You're not an easy victim to your own doubts and fears; you're a warrior, armed with determination and grit. You're pushing yourself to new heights, and in doing so, you're discovering a strength you never knew you had. So, lace up your shoes, hit the road, and unleash the beast within. The only person you're racing against is the person you were yesterday. @Vincent McGee thanks for considering me for this group 💪 Share what it means to you if you could, I would really appreciate that a lot.🙏
