Running Math: trying to count on my fingers while moving …
I’ve discovered that I want to be faster simply because it will make my calculations easier. I can’t be out there with an oxygen deprived brain trying to figure out running math and then try to calculate fractions.
I thought I was a smart person but once I’ve been out there for however long and don’t have any more snacks and I’ve run up a hill or a human gazelle has passed me (“On your left!” 😐) I just need to be able to answer “How far? How long?” In the next gasp of air …
Well. I guess if I call myself a distance runner and train for a marathon, the “smart person” comment might be up for debate …. 🤪
