Made it and finished!
Hello all, I hope you are well.
I made it to the start line today, against all the struggles of the last few weeks, I haven’t shared publicly, here goes, this feel like a safe space for all the information.
The day after my last half marathon (4 weeks ago) my Dad passed away the day before his funeral I got the news that I will need surgery to prevent further DVT and I spent Thursday this week I hospital with excessive bleeding. The doctor gave me some medication and the all clear, and encouragement, to race as it’s good for me an all aspects.
It was hard fought for finish today, the fatigue from the above shows up at around 8k and it was a physical and mental fight to keep going. I kept going for he joy is running, it’s a tough route but I love it.
