The Biggest Lead Generation Mistake? Stopping When Business Gets Busy.
One of the biggest mistakes I see entrepreneurs make is treating lead generation like an emergency. When business is slow, they network, create content, and follow up with prospects. Then business gets busy... They stop posting. They stop networking. They stop following up. A few months later, projects wrap up and suddenly they're wondering where the next client is coming from. The problem wasn't demand. The problem was inconsistency. Personally, I believe consistency is one of the most important habits an entrepreneur can develop. It's not always exciting, but it's what keeps your pipeline full and your business moving forward. The best time to generate leads isn't when you desperately need clients. It's when you're already busy. That's how you build momentum instead of constantly starting over. DBR Insight: Lead generation should be a habit, not a rescue plan. How do you stay consistent with your lead generation, even during your busiest seasons? DBR

The Visibility Problem
Many entrepreneurs believe: "If my service is good enough, people will find me." Unfortunately, that's not how business works. You can be excellent at what you do, but if nobody knows you exist, opportunities will pass you by. Visibility creates opportunities. That doesn't mean posting every hour or spending all day on social media. It means consistently reminding people: • What you do • Who you help • What problem you solve Think about two business owners with similar skills. One posts once every few months. The other regularly shares client stories, insights, projects, and helpful tips. Who gets more inquiries? Usually not the better business owner. The more visible one. DBR Insight: People can't hire you if they forget you exist. Consistency beats intensity. Why Do People Hate Bookkeeping?
Let's be honest. Many business owners would rather do almost anything than bookkeeping. They'll spend hours on marketing, networking, sales, content creation, or product development... But ask them to review their financial reports and suddenly it's time to reorganize the garage. 😄 Why? Some common reasons: • It feels overwhelming • The terminology is confusing • They're afraid of making mistakes • It doesn't feel exciting • They don't see the immediate payoff But I've noticed something interesting. Many times, we don't actually hate bookkeeping. We hate what we don't understand. As entrepreneurs, we all have strengths and weaknesses. Some people love sales. Some love operations. Some love creativity. Some love spreadsheets. And sometimes the things we avoid the most are the very areas where we need to grow. That doesn't mean you need to become a professional bookkeeper. But understanding your finances can lead to better decisions, less stress, and more confidence as a business owner. The businesses that thrive aren't always run by people who love bookkeeping. They're often run by people who recognize its importance and either learn it or build systems and support around it. 👇 What's your honest feeling about bookkeeping? Love it? Hate it? Tolerate it? Or are you somewhere in between? DBR

Why Do People Hate Bookkeeping?
🤔 Why "More Marketing" Isn't Always the Answer
When business slows down, many entrepreneurs immediately think: "I need more leads." Maybe. But before spending money on more marketing, ask yourself: 👉 Have I followed up with past clients? 👉 Have I checked in with referral partners? 👉 Have I reached out to my network lately? Many business owners are sitting on opportunities they already have. The issue isn't always marketing. Sometimes it's communication. 💡 DBR Insight: The easiest lead is often someone who already knows, likes, and trusts you. Before finding new people, reconnect with the people already in your corner. 📚 Want more lead generation strategies? Check out the #DBR Lead Generation Framework in the Classroom.
