Stumbling into a Cold Case πŸ”
Yesterday I had nothing on so I figured I would look on https://footpathmap.co.uk/ and find somewhere to walk I hadn't been before. I chose this lane I've driven past hundreds of times but never gone down.
I drove down it looking for somewhere to park, then I got curious and figured I'd just drive to the end. I got so far and it started getting much muddier so I thought I'd try to turn around before I got stuck. Bad idea.
I almost got stuck trying to turn around which would have been a bloody nightmare! Who knows what I'd do. I ended up reversing all the way back up the very long road and parking in a space I'd passed earlier. Later realized if I'd have just driven 20 more meters I would have seen it was easy to turn around ahead.
It was such a great walk near a quarry and through a woods. Then I passed this really interesting little run down isolated farm. I explored the lane a bit further too, it was so weirdly quiet. I did feel like I was about to stumble upon someone's illegal operation or something.
After I got home I googled the farm out of curiousity and discovered I was walking right next to where a body had been dumped 40 years ago. It's a local cold case.
That had me going down the rabbithole for ages last night reading about it. There is a website that breaks it down here: https://shelleymorganmurder.com/police-investigation/
