Day 1: Jesus Never Chose Between Grace and Truth
He Carried Both
Jesus didn’t soften truth to gain acceptance and He didn’t withhold grace to gain control.
Scripture (NIV):
John 1:14
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
Teaching:
Grace says: You are loved.
Truth says: You are called higher.
Jesus never compromised either.
Without grace:
- People hide
- Shame grows
- Performance increases
Without truth:
- Growth stops
- Conviction disappears
- Change becomes optional
Jesus welcomed people and transformed them.
Action Steps:
- Reflect on whether you naturally lean toward grace or truth
- Ask someone you trust how they experience your communication
- Write one area where you need more balance
Reflection:
Do people feel both loved and challenged around you?
