I almost didn't make it home
Two things happened today.
I lost my iPad… and I almost lost my life.
I was driving home and saw a sign that said DETOUR because of construction. So I followed it. The road got darker and darker, and suddenly I realized I was actually inside the construction zone.
Pitch black.
Something told me to stop… so I did.
Thank God I did, because just ahead of me the bridge was out.
I called 911, A state trooper pulled up and asked, “How did you get in here?”
I told him the sign said detour.
Turns out the sign that should’ve been there was “DO NOT ENTER.”
Lesson for today:
Stay vigilant.
Pay attention to your surroundings.
Listen to your instincts.
My iPad can be replaced.
My life cannot.
