Study: Exercise + Manual Therapy
The Consistency Paradox
After 35 years in pain management, physical therapy, chiropractic, and acupuncture, I've learned something crucial: consistency is the key component to getting the results we all want. But here's what's interesting—we're all consistent with something in our lives. For me, I'm incredibly consistent with patient care, my exercises, and documentation. I've trained myself for 35 years to show up in those areas without fail. But outside that? I struggle just like everyone else. Getting this program together, staying consistent with engagement, doing video work—these things are outside my normal comfort zone. I haven't spent decades training myself to be consistent in these areas, so it doesn't come naturally. And that's exactly my point. I don't always expect my patients or the people in this community to be perfectly consistent either. What I'm asking you to do—the exercises, the stretches, the daily habits—these are outside your comfort zone too. You haven't trained yourself for years to do these things automatically. That's completely normal. But here's why this community exists: to provide encouragement and accountability for each other as we work to end the pain you're going through right now. We're all learning consistency in new areas together. Some days will be easier than others. The goal isn't perfection—it's progress. Just a word of encouragement today: keep showing up, even when it's hard. That's where the real change happens.

Morning routine with a live recording first attempt
One crucial components of my back health blueprint is the morning routine or sometimes I call pain-free sunrise to have a catchy title exercise recommend without any foundation. I learned it myself to protect my back. I used it on patients for years, and I still do it on a daily basis so my back doesn’t hurt I’m not impervious to pain. I just work hard to avoid it. Here is me trying a live webinar on the school feature so it’s a little bit rough around the edges, but it’s me doing the morning routine in my office so enjoy

Had to Share This Story with You
I started a new patient today, and honestly, her story is one I want to share, because it really hit home. She's almost 80, and she's been dealing with back pain for 30 years. It all started with a car accident. She went to the hospital, they did X-rays, and basically told her "nothing's wrong, you'll be fine in six weeks." No PT, no follow-up, nothing. Just go home and tough it out. Well, she did just tough it out. But over the years she suffered off and on. She intermittently tried everything you can imagine - doctors, chiropractors, physical therapy, pain management, even surgery eventually. Some things helped for a while, others were pretty useless. But here's the thing - by the time she was really getting help, it had been years of this back-and-forth cycle. Now? She can barely walk. What started as something "manageable" has completely changed her life. I couldn't help but think about all of us while I was working with her. You know how it is - we finish a long day, our necks are killing us, our backs are tight, and we just tell ourselves it's part of the job. We're tough, we can handle it, we'll deal with it later when we have time. But here's what really struck me: we have something she didn't have back then - we know better, and we have options. Right now, while we're still young and our bodies are resilient, we can actually do something about those "little" aches and pains. That stiff neck after a day of procedures? That lower back that's always bugging you? These aren't just things we have to live with. They're our bodies telling us something needs attention - while we still have the power to fix it. I don't want any of us to be 80 and barely able to walk because we ignored what our bodies were trying to tell us in our 30s, 40s, and 50s. We've got this amazing opportunity right now to take care of ourselves while our bodies can still bounce back. Just something I've been thinking about. Hope it resonates with you too.
