"Not All Data Is Worth Saving"

Real talk:

Everyone’s obsessed with hoarding data. But most of it?

→ Will never be used.

The truth is, great data work starts by knowing what not to collect.

Here’s a quick mental model I use when evaluating data:

✅ Actionable

→ Can this data lead to a decision?

✅ Reliable

→ Is it clean, timely, and consistent?

✅ Understandable

→ Will stakeholders get it quickly?

I don't prioritise it if it doesn’t hit at least 2 out of 3.

Your job as a data pro isn’t to collect everything…It’s to translate the right signals into smart action.
