This is my first general post here, and I wanted to take the opportunity to share some advice based on my own journey. I’ve recently joined Data Alchemy as part of my lateral move into the world of AI, after spending 17 years in IT. I started out as a tier 1 help desk analyst and gradually worked my way up to principal engineer, eventually stepping into management.
Each step in my career introduced its own unique challenges and technologies, but one thing has remained constant: I always went all in. Early on, I learned that casually picking up new skills or technologies and hoping they’ll magically fit into your work won’t get you far. To truly succeed, you need to dive deep, dedicating all your spare time and energy to mastering the next step in your journey.
Although I’m still in the early stages of my transition into AI, I’m fully committed—and even my car seems to be on board with the journey. 😁
