Some of the reasons I didn’t jump on YouTube sooner is because I was embarrassed or unsure that my home was good enough. There was, like a decade, where I felt everyone had this minimalist white home and mine wasn’t up to snuff. I’m embarrassed to even say this because I’m a confident person, but it’s true.
But then there was this shift and people started to have actual lived in homes, with their own personality. Plus the ideas of thrifting, under buying, cozy core, using what you have recently started to emerge. I finally felt ok about my loved in spaces.
My home is a 187 year old 600 square foot cottage in the woods. It still or constantly needs repairs. It’s far from perfect. But I’ve always loved it. I just didn’t feel comfortable sharing it.
Also… YouTube is having this renaissance around you are your niche and that kind of authenticity is magic! That’s my total jam.
Have you ever experienced this? How do you feel about sharing your spaces on camera?
