There’s something burning in my mind, day and night: The Space Left Behind, a short film based on a story by Clarice Lispector, set in present-day Los Angeles. It’s a woman-centered psychological drama with the depth, intuition, and rich inner life that draw me to Clarice’s writing. Between casting, putting a team together, figuring out the budget, and all the other pre-production pieces, my brain apparently thinks sleep is optional! I’d love to connect with people who are drawn to this kind of storytelling. Come follow the film as we figure out how to bring it to life—and if you’re making yours too, let’s cheer each other on.
