Creative Play; Visual Journaling
Hello Beautiful Souls,
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about creativity as an oxygen mask.
Not creativity for performance. Not creativity to make something perfect. Not creativity that requires talent or art experience.
But gentle creativity.Simple creativity. The kind that helps a tired nervous system breathe again.
Sometimes my own “creative medicine” looks like:• drawing circles and mandalas• scribbling color across a page• tearing paper for a collage• making marks while listening to music and all in one place, my visual journal. Without the 'rules'• painting emotions instead of pictures• sitting quietly with color and shape; sometimes with crayons another with markers, paint, pen or pencil...
No pressure. No perfection. No need to be “good at art.”
Just a soft place to land.
I’m beginning to weave more of these practices into my upcoming YouTube sessions and my "Oxygen Mask Reset" course for over extended caregivers and overwhelmed professional women who have spent too long pouring from an empty cup.
Because sometimes healing doesn’t begin with fixing.
Sometimes it begins with pausing and allowing the perfect expression of self to emerge… making one gentle mark on a page at a time..
