Cashing out Now or Later?

I see a lot of people trying to make money online.

Growing audience, Solving the problem for free through Content, Selling courses.

To be honest I don't want to rush on "making money".

Is growing audience, building solid community, solving their problems for free better ?

Or should I focus on 1% of the audience and create a course based on their problem.

I mean growing audience and monetizing at the same time is hard to do.
