I’m still getting over an illness, and I didn’t have my best stuff. I made one mistake early, and it was like committing an error in the first inning that turns into a big inning for the other team. From that point on, I was playing from behind, trying to battle back—but eventually I got eliminated.
Here’s the lesson: baseball (and life) punishes mental lapses. If you’re not mentally prepared for every pitch, every rep, every situation, the moment can slip by—one missed sign, one step slow on a ground ball, one bad swing decision—and it changes the whole game.
So the focus isn’t being perfect. The focus is being ready.
I’m resetting tonight and I’ll be back at it tomorrow.
