Frustrated??
Today we battled a really good club and faced the hardest thrower we’ve seen all year. With 15 players on the roster, it’s never easy getting everyone meaningful innings in every game, and unfortunately our day ended after only 5 innings. After the game, one of our players was understandably frustrated and down. An assistant coach asked him about it and encouraged him to come talk with me. He never did. About three hours later, I stopped by the facility and saw one lone vehicle in the parking lot. I walked in to see who it was… and it was that same player in the cage, putting in work by himself. That’s how growth happens in this game. Not when everyone is watching. Not when things are going great. But when adversity hits and you choose to respond the right way. The results will eventually speak for themselves. Keep working, young man. Proud of you.

Full Circle
Tonight, I’m back where it all started. Six year old machine pitch. I’m not here for a player but the umpire. Parents, this step for your players journey is closer than you think!

Stop Teaching Bad Baseball!
If you find your self in this situation, ask yourself where you can find the type of training you need? Do not think about teams, think about your own individual development plan.

Hitting .400 deep into the season… and still calling to get extra work in on game day.
Read that again. The players who are really different don’t think they’ve “arrived.” They don’t coast because the numbers look good. They don’t start believing hype, rankings, or social media comments. They go back to work. Again. And again. And again. Today we got extra swings in before the game. About 50 cuts. Quietly. No cameras. No posts. No audience. Just a player obsessed with developing his craft. That’s the separator. Everybody wants the results.Very few are addicted to the process. You want to know how players become elite? Not travel ball logos. Not custom uniforms. Not bat flips and TikTok edits. Work. Repetition. Intentional development. The best players I know are usually the ones nobody sees working. They’re the ones asking for more swings when everyone else is resting on stats. They’re the ones fixing weaknesses while everyone else is celebrating averages. This is how you DEVELOP.This is the ONLY way. The game will expose anybody looking for shortcuts.
