Are your carbs killing your focus or fueling your work?
Alright, let’s get specific.
Not all carbs are created equal — and if you’re trying to run a business, stay sharp, and actually feel good during the day, you need to understand this.
There are two main types:
👉 Simple carbs – found in candy, soda, white bread, etc.
They digest fast, spike your blood sugar, and lead to that brutal energy crash 1–2 hours later. You know the one — where you can’t think straight and just want to scroll.
👉 Complex carbs – found in things like potatoes, grains, legumes.
These digest slower, but here’s the catch: many of them come with antinutrients (like phytic acid or lectins) that block mineral absorption and irritate your gut. Especially grains.
Now, the better option for high-output entrepreneurs?
🍌 Fruits – fast energy, loaded with vitamins
🍯 Raw honey – easy on digestion, powerful for focus
🥛 Dairy – if tolerated, it’s one of the most nutrient-dense carb+fat+protein combos you can eat
These give you clean glucose without the crash — and that’s huge when you're in deep work, on back-to-back calls, or just trying not to burn out by 3pm.
Personally, I eat fruit between calls or before writing.
A few slices of watermelon or a banana + honey? Instant clarity.
