Procrastination is normal. We all procrastinate sometimes. If it’s something that is not very important, you don’t have to worry about it. But if you realize you are procrastinating on very important things, then you really need to overcome it. Here are some ideas from my experience. Hope it helps someone. First, if you know it’s very important, just get up and do it. Don’t give it a second thought. Don’t think about it again. just get up at that moment and work on it. If you are still feeling lazy, for example, if you are listening to music at that time, you can try multitasking.. you can listen to music and do your work. Another thing I do is I call some person and talk and during the call I do my works. If the call is interesting we will continue the call for hours, right, so if we are doing the work during the call we can continue that work also for hours, it works in my case I don’t know if it works for other people. Anyway, give it a try. Another thing is that you can break the task into simple, short parts and get things done one by one so you don’t feel it is too heavy. Also, try to find a person who can motivate you. Ask them to motivate you with clear direction and to help you understand the consequences of procrastinating on that important task. that will help. I know starting is the hardest part, but once you start, you are into it, so always try to give a start. Another useful step is to keep your materials ready. you don’t even have to start yet, just keep everything ready. That will give you the thought that everything is set and you can just begin. Finally, one very important thing is to silence notifications on your mobile phone, because they distract you from your work. This is one of the main things that gives us the urge to procrastinate. So just wake up and get your things done.. no one will come to save you. Its on you only!! #procrastination #morningthoughts #lifelessons #eslteacher #publicspeaking
