PROCRASTINATION
Procrastination is normal. We all procrastinate sometimes. If it’s something that is not very important, you don’t have to worry about it. But if you realize you are procrastinating on very important things, then you really need to overcome it. Here are some ideas from my experience. Hope it helps someone. First, if you know it’s very important, just get up and do it. Don’t give it a second thought. Don’t think about it again. just get up at that moment and work on it. If you are still feeling lazy, for example, if you are listening to music at that time, you can try multitasking.. you can listen to music and do your work. Another thing I do is I call some person and talk and during the call I do my works. If the call is interesting we will continue the call for hours, right, so if we are doing the work during the call we can continue that work also for hours, it works in my case I don’t know if it works for other people. Anyway, give it a try. Another thing is that you can break the task into simple, short parts and get things done one by one so you don’t feel it is too heavy. Also, try to find a person who can motivate you. Ask them to motivate you with clear direction and to help you understand the consequences of procrastinating on that important task. that will help. I know starting is the hardest part, but once you start, you are into it, so always try to give a start. Another useful step is to keep your materials ready. you don’t even have to start yet, just keep everything ready. That will give you the thought that everything is set and you can just begin. Finally, one very important thing is to silence notifications on your mobile phone, because they distract you from your work. This is one of the main things that gives us the urge to procrastinate. So just wake up and get your things done.. no one will come to save you. Its on you only!! #procrastination #morningthoughts #lifelessons #eslteacher #publicspeaking

I have got that confidence to start the podcast :)
What flips the switch for you?
I had a great discussion with @Muhammed Afeef about language learning and confidence. We always here “face your fears, speak with confidence and dont worry what others think.” But whats the difference between hearing those words and actually taking them to heart? Whats made the biggest difference in gaining confidence speaking English? Whats flipped the switch? For me learning Mandarin, what flipped the switch was talking to a Chinese coffee shop owner every day. That interaction is what actually gave me confidence and practice in a low-stakes setting to improve my Mandarin. What has flipped the switch for you?

IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING PHRASES
One of the most effective changes I made in my English-learning journey was shifting from learning individual words to learning complete phrases. In real-life conversations, people don’t communicate using single words—they use ready-made expressions. Learning phrases helps you speak faster, think less about grammar, and sound more natural and confident. For example, instead of learning the word “agree,” it’s more useful to practice phrases like “I agree with you,” “That makes sense,” “I see your point,” or “I couldn’t agree more.” Rather than memorizing “confused,” phrases such as “I’m not sure I understand,” “Could you explain that again?” “Can you break it down for me?” or “I need a little clarification” help you communicate clearly. To share opinions, phrases like “In my opinion…,” “From my experience…,” “What I’ve noticed is…,” and “I believe that…” are far more powerful than single words. When you need time to think, expressions such as “Let me think about that,” “That’s a good question,” “Give me a moment,” or “I’ll get back to you on that” keep the conversation flowing naturally. For daily and professional communication, phrases like “That sounds great,” “I appreciate that,” “Thanks for pointing that out,” “I completely understand,” “Let’s look at it this way,” and “What do you think about this?” act as communication shortcuts and instantly boost confidence. When we focus on phrases, we stop translating in our heads and start thinking directly in English. Have a great day folks!

IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING PHRASES
Something big is coming!
Yesterday, I had a meeting with Jessica ma'am. It was such an informative session. I spoke about the book I wrote and the method I designed to make language learning simpler by avoiding grammatical terms and rules that often create confusion and fear among beginner learners. As an experienced ESL teacher, she appreciated this initiative, and that made me really happy. The common thing we share is a genuine passion for this language. We discussed many topics, including the problems Indians face when learning English, the anxiety people feel while speaking English, and issues related to accent and pronunciation. It was truly a great conversation. The most interesting part is that we are planning to start a podcast together very soon. Lets build this community together
