I created Comic Collector Academy because this hobby is awesome…but man, there is a LOT to learn. What's a comic actually worth? How do you tell a 9.8 from a 9.6? Should you get that book graded? What's a key issue? How should you store your collection? What mistakes can permanently hurt a comic's grade or value? And why does every collector eventually need just one more long box? 😂 That's what we're going to tackle together. CCA is a place to learn about collecting, grading, buying, selling, preservation, key issues, CGC/CBCS, pressing, cleaning and everything else that makes this hobby so much fun. But I don't want this to become a community where I talk and everyone else just listens. I want collectors helping collectors. I've been buying, selling and collecting comics since 2009 through Ugly Monkey Comics, and I've learned a ton along the way—including a few lessons the expensive way. I'll share what I've learned, but I also know there are collectors joining this community who have decades of knowledge and experiences of their own. That's what will make CCA special. Beginners can ask questions without worrying about whether it's a "stupid question." Experienced collectors can share what they've learned. And hopefully we all become better collectors together.
