Five years ago I got a small pot of these “annuals” from my kids school green house. They really aren’t supposed to do this in this zone. But every year even after being sprayed heavily by my husband after I fill my pot, they come back up the next year and bring their friends. This year I decided to just roll with it. They are pretty and bloom for a long time. You can see the pot I started with them in. The first year they filled it nicely but that’s it. Now these picture only show you part of them. They just keep spreading.

My spider is blooming like crazy. I have this one in an east bathroom window. It obviously loves it there. Pictures aren’t great with the light coming at me but hopefully you can see all the blooms.

I know! I know! No one wants to hear the rules, but it's something that must be done. I'm pretty easy to get along with so the rules are simple. 1. Be nice. Not everyone will share the same opinion but there's plenty of room for different thoughts. If you feel criticism is necessary (and I'm sure it isn't) please make it constructive. 2. No self-promotion. This includes (but is not limited to) MLM, drop-shipping, website design, marketing of any kind, POD, Etsy shops, etc. There are plenty of other groups for that. I will, however, create posts where gardening related businesses can add their info/links. 3. Share your thoughts on gardens; both as a place to grow food and a place to enjoy. Gardens are used for more than just food. They're used for entertaining, meditating, teaching, a sense of community, a place of business, etc. 4. Have fun! We're all here to share our experiences: both good and bad. Take pictures of your tomatoes and the pests that threaten to harm them. We'll oohh & aaahhh, then offer solutions on how to get rid of the pests. I will remove posts that are self-promotional and those that do not contribute to the community in some way. I don't foresee that having to be a regular occurence because gardeners are respectful people. So without further ado, like this post so I know you've read the rules. And if there's something you think I missed then please let me know so I can make the proper modifications.

It’s a beautiful day today so I decided last-minute to take a drive out to my cabin. And by last-minute I mean no paper, pen, tape measure, or anything that would have been helpful to measure out the “yard” area. I did do a rough measure with my phone and took notes in an app but it’s not the same as pen, paper, and tape measure. I’m considering about 2 acres so I have room for fruit trees and some flowers down the road. It’s spring but everything is already crunchy under my feet and the ground is hard and cracked. It is good to see some water in the sloughs though, so the neighbour’s cows will have a few more options for drinking. At least for the first round in the pasture. This is taken so I can have somewhat of a visual when I’m getting my fencing materials figured out. I was standing about 300’ away so I think there’ll be plenty of room for parking and additional accommodations.

I ordered “banana seeds” from Amazon a couple of weeks ago or so, but what is germinating is not looking like a banana tree at all. Plus the seeds I got were much different than the banana seeds I bought at a grocery store years ago. I think they’re looking more like irises. What are your thoughts?
