🤖 Tech & Tools for Your Shop is happening in 12 days
Greetings from Asturias, Spain
Hello everyone, this is Manuel, from Asturias, Spain. With my wife, we own a small specialty coffe take away called Soul Coffee, located in the center of Gijon. We've been up and running for 2 years+, grew our every day customer base a 100%, and improved our sales x2, but we have felt stuck at this point for a few months and been hesitating wether to keep trying or selling the shop. Not because the business isn't delivering, but because we've put into it so much from us, put our lives 200% into being the baristas, baking, managing social media, doing purchases, accounting and cleaning and etc etc, that it felt like it wasn´t paying off for all of these hours. Thanks to a friend of us, we met Juan and started the mentorship this week, so we are making our very big last effort to make this little coffe (that we completely love ) straighten up and keep it running. I´ll try to keep up with the posts and give a little insight of how we move forward and how do we feel about it, so everyone can track our journey! Cheers to everyone who's thinking about opening! It's hard, but it's satisfying! Follow the right steps and you´ll start off the right way!

A new bee
Hi everyone! I’m really excited to be here. My daughter and I are about to take the leap and start the business we’ve been dreaming about for years. Funny enough, we first imagined opening a cozy specialty coffee shop and only later becoming a roastery. But the more we talked about our strengths, our story, and the kind of impact we wanted to have, the more we realized we had it backwards. So we’re starting with a specialty coffee roastery focused on B2B, while keeping a small takeaway coffee window as a way to share our coffee and build our brand with the local community. Coffee has been part of my family’s life for over a century. We’ve been producing commercial coffee in Brazil for generations, but I’ve always dreamed of being part of the specialty coffee world. The best surprise was discovering that my daughter—a creative artist—had fallen in love with that dream too, especially with the family stories behind every bean. We’re at the beginning of this journey, and I know we have a lot to learn. That’s one of the reasons I joined this community. I’m looking forward to learning from those who’ve already been through the challenges we’re about to face, sharing experiences, exchanging ideas, and hopefully giving back as we grow. Looking forward to getting to know you all!
